What publishing options are available?

Last Updated: Jun 04, 2018 07:24AM PDT
When you publish a story you are presented with three options:
  • Allow search engines (like Google) to search this story.
  • Allow LiveStories users to copy your story and its data.
  • Require passcode.

Allow search engines (like Google) to search this story.

What does this mean: The URL will be publicly indexed in search engines like Google.
When should I use this: Use this option when you’re ready to share a final version of your story.

Allow LiveStories users to copy your story and its data.
What does this mean: If another LiveStories user has the URL to your story, they can copy your story and the datasets connected to the story into their team account. This will create a copy of your story and dataset that is no longer connected to your published story.
When should I use this: Use this option when you want to share your story as a template for other customers to use.

Require passcode.
What does this mean: You can add a 4-6 digit numeric passcode of your choice. To see the published story, a user will need to have the story URL and the passcode.
When should I use this: Use this option when you want to show your story to people who are not LiveStories users before you have published your story publicly without a passcode.

You can choose more than one publishing option at once.

Quick tip: If you select the Require passcode publishing option, you are unable to check the Allow LiveStories users to copy your story and its data publishing option.
